Park facing out

During the icy New England winter, natives know one thing about positioning their cars: they park facing out.   Savvy drivers realize that often one cannot be sure just how icy or slushy the parking space will be when one returns to his car. So, the safest thing to do, especially on a hill, is to park facing out: one can always slip the car in neutral and let it slide forward.

As believers, this is our approach to life on earth. All that we ought to be doing and saying should be inspired by our knowledge of eternity. We are aiming our earthly lives at heaven. We are orienting ourselves toward our maker and savior, not conforming to our surroundings. Earth is not our home forever, so we choose how we spend our time here based on heavenly reward.

We park facing out.
